How to Obtain a Library Card
If you are 18 or older:
- You need identification with photo and your current address (for example a driver’s license or Delaware ID, mail, etc.). If you are a Delaware resident or property owner, the card is free. If not, there is a $20.00 charge.
- If you elect to print out the online form, you will still need to bring your identification to the library to receive a card.
- Return the application with your identification to the librarian. After verifying your indentification, we will enter the information into the computer. This card is good in any public library in Sussex or Kent County. You do not need to obtain a card in each library.
If you are under 18 years old:
- Your parents or guardian must come to the library with you to fill out and sign the application. There is also a space on the application for your parents or guardian to indicate whether or not you will have access to the Internet.
